What is Jaipur Kitchen?

Jaipur Kitchen is a weekly meal delivery service of homestyle and healthy Indian food, inspired by the Jaipur/Rajasthan region of India.

How does Jaipur Kitchen's ordering system work?

It's simple! Menus are released on Monday, orders must be placed by Thursday, and meals are delivered on Sunday!

How is food from Jaipur/Rajasthan different from other regions of India?

Each region has a different way of cooking and different ingredients depending on the weather and geography.  Jaipur/Rajasthan cuisine balances decadent and simple foods.  Some say it’s a perfect marriage between Gujarati food and Punjabi food (which is most commonly found in Indian restaurants in the US).

What is the difference between homestyle and restaurant Indian food?

We love both! Restaurant Indian food is delicious, creamy, decadent and a treat for special occasions.  Homestyle Indian food focuses on ingredients our parents, grandparents, or great grandparents have been using for generations in their kitchens, like lentils, legumes, green vegetables, pickled sides, whole wheat flatbread, with low amounts of oil, cream, butter, and cheese. The food is simpler, healthier, and perfect for every day!  And it evokes nostalgia for family kitchens!  That’s why our motto is “From Our Kitchen to Yours.”

Do menus change?

Yes, menus change weekly! You can see prior menus on our Instagram page (@jaipurkitchen).

What do weekly menus usually include?

They usually appetizers, vegetarian items, non-vegetarian items, sides and desserts.

How much do I need to order to last the week?

For 2-4 people, we suggest ordering:

- 4-5 main items from the Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian Menu.

- 2 items from the Appetizer menu.

- 1-2 items from the side menu.

Do you offer meat dishes?

Yes, we do. Our menus are marked with non-vegetarian items.

Where do you source the ingredients?

All produce and items used in cooking are purchased at local stores in New Jersey, often at farmers’ markets. We never use artificial ingredients, preservatives, or unhealthy ingredients.

Do I have to eat the food right away?

The food will be fresh for up to 5-7 days. If you do not plan on eating in the next 5-7 days, we suggest freezing the food.

What are your safety precautions?

All surfaces, pans, utensils are sanitized before cooking. Masks, gloves, and hair caps are worn during prepping and cooking. Once the food is cooked, it is not touched by any person. Delivery is contactless.

Yes, the minimum is $40.

When do you deliver?

We deliver on Sunday between 12-7.

How do I know when I will receive my delivery?

When drivers begin their route, you receive an email/text with a delivery window. When the order has been delivered, you receive an email/text that it has been delivered.

How do I ensure I receive these delivery notifications?

Please double-check your email and phone number when you place an order. If these are accurate, you will receive notifications.

Can you ask for a specific time window for delivery?

At this time, we're not able to offer specific time windows for delivery on Sunday.

Do you deliver on any other days, apart from Sunday?

At this time, we only offer delivery on Sunday.

Can I leave directions for delivery?

Yes, at checkout, there is an option to leave directions for delivery. Please note, we cannot accommodate specific delivery windows at this time.

Is delivery contactless?

Delivery is contactless, so we drop all food with the doorman, concierge or leave in the lobby (due to the pandemic, we cannot deliver to your door). If you do not have a doorman, concierge, or lobby, please provide us with directions on where to leave food near your entrance in the delivery directions at checkout.
